In 1997, our Quarry in Kilmichael near Macroom was opened and Mid-Cork Quarries (Kilmichael) Limited was born. Soon after, a further dimension to the Group was added in the form of our own Asphalt Manufacturing Plant.

This was followed in 2005 with the opening of a further Asphalt Manufacturing Plant at Banemore, outside Listowel, known as Kerry Tarmacadam Manufacturing Limited. Since 2016 both companies now operate as McSweeney Bros Quarries Ltd.

In addition McSweeney Bros Quarries Ltd have acquired a landfill licence at our depot in Shanlauragh and can receive various types of stone, soil, rock, concrete and top soil. Our stone can be supplied and delivered in various amounts from 1 ton bags to 30 ton deliveries.

McSweeney Bros Quarries Ltd are suppliers of stone products and high PSV chipping of 62. All our stone products are manufactured to Production of Aggregate in accordance with annex ZA of the following: IS EN 13043 Aggregate for Bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other traffic areas.

• I.S. EN 13108-4 Hot Rolled Asphalt
• I.S. EN 13108-5 Stone Mastic Asphalt
• I.S. EN 13108-7 Porous Asphalt

A collection yard for small quantities of stone, grit, sand, pre cast mix, ¾ down and chips is available at our Head Office Ballinacarriga, Dunmanway, Co. Cork.
