Who we are

McSweeney Brothers is an Irish owned, family operated business originally founded in 1971. The very first road gang consisted of Pat McSweeney and his brothers John, Hughie and the late Denis. The reason why the McSweeneys decided on this line of work was because in the early ‘70s two of the brothers returned from England with a skill of tarmacadam laying. This knowledge was combined with the other two brothers’ mechanical know how. This pooling of knowledge of expertise resulted in the founding of the business. “At that time 25 years ago tarmac was beginning to get popular so we decided why not have a shot at it” Pat McSweeney said.
